POWER GRAB, .... (CNSNews.com) - Now what? A Republican attempt to block President Obama's executive dictates on immigration failed in the Senate Tuesday night, when all 46 Senate Democrats -- and one Republican -- refused to even debate it.
The House-passed bill would provide $40 billion in funding for the Department of Homeland Security, but it also would block any funding to implement Obama's unilateral action to defer deportation and issue work permits for millions of people who came to the country illegally.
Republicans needed 60 votes, but no Democrats and only 51 of the 54 Senate Republicans voted to advance the bill....../-
